Welcome to Firemonger Version 1.5 Public Beta - we hope you enjoy using it and choose to pass it on to your friends, family and coworkers. We are aware that we will have some problems with this version so please visit our forums to provide us with feedback if you have any issues - www.firemonger.org//forums .

To load Firemonger, double click on the firemonge.exe icon. Further help is provided under the 'More' heading within the program.

If you have Firemonger from a zip file, simply burn the CD with your CD burning software. Extract all of the files from the zip folder. Tell your software to create a data CD and add all of the files, making sure firemonger.exe is in the root CD folder so that it can autolaunch.

Known issues:

Firemonger sometimes crashes randomly on some computers when loading a new page. This is a fairly rare occurrence that will be rectified after the release of Firefox 1.5 in November 2005. When it crashes and you are asked to send a data report, simply press "Do Not Send", wait a moment and load Firemonger again. We apologise for this inconvenience.

Unfortunately some extensions cause problems of some computers. This is not Firemonger's fault. To avoid having this problem, we recommend only installing 5 extensions at a time. Then if Firefox fails to load you know which extension probably caused it. If you have installed extensions and Firefox then fails to load, go to Start, All Programs, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode). If the problem is an extension Firefox will then load. Then go to Tools, Extensions, select the extensions you suspect might cause the problem, and press Uninstall. Close Firefox and open it again normally. Hopefully your problem will be resolved! Further help is available at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_:_Issues .

Unfortunately some extensions have still not been updated for Firefox 1.0.6 and will not install. We just have to wait for extensions writers to update.

We are aware of some font and layout issues on Windows 98. Backupfox will not run. We recommend Windows 2000 and above. To maintain a decent speed the computer should be reasonably fast.

Translations are only in testing at this point.
